Captain’s Salon feature of the week

Stop in to the Captain's Salon on the bottom deck of the Steamboat NATCHEZ. This casual dining area offers lighter options, Monday through Saturday, on both the 11:30am and 2:30pm cruises.

Chef Joey LaBella and his team change the menu daily offering a variety of items including salads, desserts, appetizer items, a full call level bar with specialty coffees, and sandwiches.  Just right for that smaller appetite.  This week we recommend a favorite of Executive Chef Joey LaBella and most of the locals in our city – The Muffuletta.

The muffuletta originated in New Orleans and Joey learned to create this version from a dynasty of Italian ancestors.  Joey’s traditional style muffuletta sandwich is created with Chesesi ham, genoa salami, provolone cheese and his grandfather’s recipe for olive salad.  Olive salads may vary but the typical ingredients are olives, celery, cauliflower and carrots, with oregano and garlic, covered in olive oil, and allowed to combine for at least 24 hours
